Anita Saarkessian

Anita Sarkeesian has been a Canadian and American feminist media critic for over 20 years. She's well-known as a public speech writer. She founded Feminist Frequency the site that features videos and comments discussing the depictions of females in popular culture. Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian-American blogger and media critic who has won prizes for her work, is a feminist blogger. She is the founder and director of executive for Feminist Frequency A scholarly not-for-profit website that explores representations of women in pop culture narratives. In her efforts to dispel the myths that are associated with females in pop culture she also seeks to bring attention to harassment targeted at women and the other marginalized groups of individuals in the internet space. Sarkeesian, who holds a Master's in the field of Social and Political Thinking from York University, is a well-known public speakers. She has spoken at the TEDxWomen festival as well as United Nations Broadband Working Group to Gender. Interested in issues concerning gender identity and feminism from at an early age, she created her own website Feminist Frequency in 2009 while she was still at University. Someone who hoped to create a web series that examined the gender representation of video games was targeted by an internet-based campaign. This attack was not enough to stop her. It actually made her more committed to be a feminist as well as media critic. Her many notable contributions in the field of feminists have been recognized by numerous prizes. Anita Sarkeesian won awards for her efforts as a critique of media and also founded Feminist Frequency. Feminist Frequency is a non-profit organization that investigates women's representation in popular culture of today.
